AT ANIMAL HAVEN
VETERINARY CENTER
your pet's health and well- being is our primary concern and we know
that the health-care partnership between an owner and a veterinarian is
extremely important. We will clearly present to you all possible
treatment options and together we will choose the best therapeutic
option for your pet. Our goal is to provide compassionate and complete
medical care and guidance throughout your pet’s life. To support this
belief, we will try to explain what is going on with your pet through
verbal client education and handouts in order to detail specific
conditions we may have diagnosed your pet with and procedures (such as
blood work) we may have done or recommended for your pet. We feel this
will better enable you to have an understanding of what we are doing and
allow you to understand and more fully participate in your pet’s health
and veterinary care. We will strive to resolve your pet’s problems in a
timely and cost-effective manner while minimizing discomfort and
providing compassionate care for your family’s friend.
Animal Haven Veterinary
Center got its
start in 1999 as a mobile practice. Dr. Brady and Dr. Fagraeus
purchased a 26-foot mobile unit that allowed them to provide complete
veterinary care, including surgeries and x-rays. In 2004, a stationary
hospital (located on route 40 in Bear) was added. Most appointments are
seen at our stationary location, but housecalls are still offered. The
majority of housecalls are done by one of the doctors and a technician
coming into your home to examine your pet but for more involved
situations, the mobile unit can be brought to your home. Owners with
multiple pets, or those finding it difficult to travel to a stationary
clinic, will find that Dr. Fagraeus, Dr. Brady and Dr. Wood can provide
all veterinary services from routine examinations to surgeries through
one of the services Animal haven Veterinary Center offers. We are
extremely excited and proud of our practice and the many ways we are
able to provide complete, compassionate care to our patients and their
owners!
Our Future
We have purchased an
11-acre parcel of land on Choptank Road (Route 15) just south of the
Summit Bridge (Route 896 bridge as you head south towards Middletown).
Our plans are to build two buildings on this site, one for boarding and
grooming and the other to house a veterinary hospital. We will continue
to offer house calls and our current plan is to keep the Bear office
open also.
