Microchip
Your Pet
|
We
now have microchips, which can be painlessly and
inexpensively injected under your pet’s skin to provide a
permanent and unalterable means of identification for your
pet. Please
ask us about this important service so that your pet can
always have a means of identification so that in the
unfortunate event that he/she becomes lost or stolen,
he/she can be reunited with you. |
Adopt-A-Pet
|
We
now have a page on our website dedicated to pets available for
adoption. If you are
looking for a pet, go to the “Adopt-A-Pet” page.
If you have an animal in need of a new home, you can email
or mail us a photo of the pet along with a few words about
him/her (like….good with kids, not good with small children,
needs lots of room to exercise, etc) and your contact
information. Animal
Haven Veterinary Center is providing information about the listed
animals only as a means of helping to create a source on our
website for the adoption of pets that are in need of homes –
YOU are the contact person, so it is important this information
be correct. If your
pet finds a home, please notify us so that we can remove him/her
from our Adopt-A-Pet web page.
If this is successful, perhaps we’ll have to create a
new page for “Animals That Found Homes On Animal Haven’s
Adopt-A-Pet Web Page”!!!!!

In
Memory Of
|
We
welcome you to show tribute to a beloved pet by placing a photo of him/her on
our “In Memory Of” page on our website.
You can email us or mail us a photo of your pet along with some loving
words and/or fond memories of your pet. Losing
a pet is never easy, but hopefully as times passes, the sadness will fade and
the happy memories will remain – we hope this is another way to help bring
comfort and healing during a time of great loss.
Although our furry friends may leave us in the form of a body that lives
with us here on Earth, there love and spirit will always remain with us in our
hearts and in our memories.

PennHip
|
PennHIP
stands for the University of Pennsylvania
Hip
Improvement
Program
and is a specific x-ray technique
used to diagnose hip dysplasia. It is a process whereby only doctors who
have successfully completed an intensive training and certification process can
perform the x-rays required for a dog to be evaluated using the PennHIP method.
The PennHIP technique of evaluating dogs allows for earlier (16 weeks of age)
diagnosis (as opposed to the “older” technique referred to as OFA
certification which required dogs be 2 years old). This allows dogs to be
evaluated at an earlier age, which can allow for earlier intervention/treatment
options of dogs evaluated with a greater hip laxity and also allows dogs with
predisposition to developing hip dysplasia to be removed from the breeding
stock. For more information on PennHIP, please visit the flowing websites
or call our office for more information.
