In
the event that your pet requires overnight hospitalization, we will provide that
service at our stationary facility. If hospitalization is required of one
of our patients we have seen during a house call, we can transport your pet to
our stationary location. If a pet requires intensive care, we may elect to
refer you to a 24-hour facility that is nearby – this can be discussed and
decided upon based on an individual and case-by-case situation.
In
the event that you have an emergency with your pet during regular office hours
(8 AM – 8 PM Monday thru Friday and 8 AM – 2 PM on Saturdays), you should
always try to contact our office first as we will likely be able to accommodate
you to see your pet. Currently, we handle after-hour emergencies by having
you call one of several hospitals in the area that offer 24-hour care.
These hospitals are: Windcrest Animal Hospital (phone number =
302-998-2995) located on Lancaster Pike (just off of route 141) in Wilmington,
Veterinary Specialty Center of Delaware (phone number = 302-691-3647) located on
Newport Pike (by Banning Park) in Wilmington, or VCA Newark Animal Hospital
(phone number = 302-737-8100) located on Marrows Road (near the route 273 and 72
intersection by the post office) in Newark. Each of these emergency
hospitals is approximately 15-30 minutes from our facility.
